About the Organization :
Ayani is a finance management and consulting company incorporated in the Netherlands on 31 January, 2008. Our business is increasing access to finance – savings, insurance, credit, transfers, leasing, etc – in markets where financial services remain exclusive and, therefore, under-productive. It offers technical and strategic support as well as management services in all financial markets from investment funds, bond markets, public finance, regulation, banking, SME lending, microfinance, accounting, information technology, management information systems and business development.

About the Job :
Agricultural Finance Experts will provide punctual technical assistance, training and action research for Ayani clients as needed. Clients range from commercial banks and microfinance institutions to central bank and national governments. Experts will also be involved in business development. The job will require 25-50% travel.

• Master’s degree or equivalent in finance, business, economics or related field ;
• Minimum of ten years combined in financial, agriculture and rural development sectors ;
• At least three years of direct work in management or technical assistance to financial institutions offering agricultural finance ;
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in using rural value chain assessment and development ;
• Firm understanding of agricultural risks including pricing and production, as well as tools for mitigating risk in lending ;
• Excellent writing skills ;
• Fluent in English or French, and proficiency in Portuguese or Arabic an asset ;
• Excellent communication and training skills ;
• Inter-cultural sensitivities which permits successful work in multiple countries, at government, financial institution and farmer levels ;
• Well connected and respected as an expert in the financial sector or finance community ;
• Strong analytical skills and output-orientation ;
• Ability to work as part of team.
